Hello everyone! I'm Rio from the Hobby Japan FFTCG development team. It's my turn for this week's “Card of the Week,” where I introduce a new card from the upcoming booster pack “Journey of Discovery” releasing on November 14th - I'll do my best to make it enjoyable, so please look forward to it!
I’ll now introduce Xande [27-010L] from FINAL FANTASY III! Featuring an original illustration by Yukihiro Kajimoto, Xande makes a grand appearance, radiating with the overwhelming aura and imposing presence of a Dark Lord.
We hope you'll also get your hands on the Full Art version and enjoy his captivating presence within your collection.

Xande [27-010L] is a Fire element Forward with 5 CP and 8000 Power. He also possesses two Auto Abilities, making him quite flashy while he’s in action. Let's take a look at them one by one!
First Effect: Nullifies the abilities of all Forwards with a named Job!
The first effect activates when Xande enters the field. By naming one job, all the opponent's Forwards with that named job lose all their abilities until the end of the turn. Since this effect doesn’t include the keyword “Choose,” it seems quite versatile. It’s splendid how this powerful effect gleams with menacing, Dark Lord-like threat, perfectly matching the character himself.
Second Effect: 9000 damage at the beginning of the Attack Phase!
The second effect activates at the beginning of the Attack Phase. It deals 9000 damage to 1 of your opponent's Forwards, then allows you to draw 1 card, then discard 1 card. If you discard a [Card Name Xande] by this effect, you can trigger this Auto Ability again!
If I were the one controlling this card, I’d probably start off by making sure I’m holding multiple Xandes in my hand. Then, I’d move to the attack phase. Next, grin ear to ear (this step is important!). After thoroughly enjoying that grin, I’d burn the opponent's field to the ground with infinite Xande plays.
A powerful ability that should shine tremendously in Fire element decks
Xande looks like a card that can be widely used in fire element-centered decks. Its greatest strength lies in removing the “cannot be chosen by abilities” effect by bypassing it entirely, essentially nullifying the abilities of cards like Oschon [26-047H], Rosa [14-057H], and Warrior of Light [21-121L] by not “choosing” them. It appears Xande could be a reliable solution against cards with limited countermeasures. I think he could also be used in many ways beyond what we've introduced today, so please enjoy experimenting with various card combinations.
How did you like Xande [27-010L]? We hope you felt even a little of Xande's charm.
Next time, Kageyama-san will introduce a certain bandana-wearing fellow. Stay tuned!
