Blissful Eternity - Card of the Week - [29-093L] Meia

Depicting [29-093L] Meia Card Image

Hello everyone! This is Rio from Hobby Japan, and I work on FFTCG.

Today marks the fourth week of "Card of the Week," where we showcase new cards from the upcoming booster pack, Blissful Eternity, scheduled for release on August 7th. I’m thrilled to be in charge this week. Thank you for joining me!

The card I’ll be introducing today is [29-093L] Meia, who appears MOBIUS FINAL FANTASY.

Ability Breakdown

First, let's look at her first ability, which is exceptionally versatile and immediately catches the eye.

"EX BURST When Meia enters the field, you may search for 1 Category MOBIUS Character and add it to your hand. If it is Card Name Wol, you also gain 1 Crystal."

Since she allows you to search for a Category MOBIUS character upon entering the field, you can precisely tutor the perfect Backup or Forward into your hand depending on the game state. On top of that, this ability features an "EX BURST," meaning it triggers even when she flips from your damage zone! Triggering this via EX BURST is incredibly powerful because it lets you set up a counterattack piece in your hand without depleting your resources. Furthermore, if the card you search for happens to be Card Name Wol, you even get an extra Crystal!

She is bound to be a stellar performer in Category MOBIUS decks. While this alone makes her an excellent card, her true essence doesn't stop there!

Her second ability is an effect that will make you even happier.

"When a Category MOBIUS Forward other than Meia enters your field, it gains Haste until the end of the turn. This effect will triggers only once per turn."

Simply by having another Category MOBIUS Forward enter your field, she automatically gives it Haste. Although it is limited to once per turn, allowing your subsequent Forwards to attack right away might just leave your opponent trembling with fear!

Good Matchups / Cards with Great Synergy

Meia's second ability grants Haste to any Category MOBIUS Forward that enters the field.

◆ Haste

A Forward with Haste can attack or use abilities that include the Dull icon in their cost on the turn it enters the field.

This effect is, of course, fantastic for Forwards you want to attack with immediately, but it also has amazing synergy with Forwards that possess action abilities requiring a Dull icon! Let's pick out a few recommended combinations right now from the current card pool!

[20-007L] Fiend

Fiend is an ultra-powerful Forward that lets you choose and trigger one of three devastating actions both when it enters the field and when it attacks.

Normally, you can only trigger its effect once on the turn it is played (the enter-the-field effect). However, if you give it Haste via Meia's ability, you can swing for an attack on that very same turn! This means you can trigger its auto-abilities twice in a single turn—once upon entry and once upon attack. It's a delightfully fun combination! ♡

Category MOBIUS Forwards:

[13-117R] Wol

Since he has an auto-ability that triggers when dealing damage to your opponent, his synergy with Meia—who can grant him Haste—is top-notch!

・[21-027L] Griever

・[27-098L] The Emperor

Normally, action abilities that include a Dull cost cannot be used until you wait for the next turn after playing them. But with Meia around, they are granted Haste the moment they hit the field, allowing you to use their abilities right away. Being able to unleash powerful effects before passing the turn to your opponent will surely broaden the strategic options for Category MOBIUS decks significantly!

But wait—some of you might be thinking, "With the current card pool, aren't there still a bit too few Category MOBIUS cards that can fully utilize Crystals?" As for that... it’s still a secret from me! But I want you to wait with excited anticipation for the wave of information that will be revealed in the coming days.

What did you think? Between the explosive Haste combos with cards like [20-007L] Fiend in the current pool, and the synergies with future cards yet to be revealed, Meia holds the potential to become the brand-new core of Category MOBIUS) decks. I am already so excited to see what kind of storm Meia will whip up in the new meta!

That’s all for this week. Look forward to next week's "Card of the Week" too!
