Tears of the Planet - Card of The Week - Meia [25-101L]

Hello everyone! Welcome to Card of the Week, where we introduce upcoming cards from the next Booster Pack – this time from “Tears of the Planet,” set to be released on March 28th. In this second Card of the Week, we will be introducing one of the main characters from MOBIUS FINAL FANTASY, Meia [25-101L].

Meia [25-101L]

Meia [25-101L]’s illustration is of her as a job known as Vesna Krasna. For this reason, Meia [25-101L] also has the Job Vesna Krasna in FFTCG. When looking at her as an FFTCG card, she is a 3CP, 7000 power, Water Forward, with the earlier mentioned Job Vesna Krasna and Job Witch. In addition, Meia [25-101L] has two abilities that both utilize Category MOBIUS, which she also belongs to.

The first ability reads, “When Meia enters the field, you may remove 1 Category MOBIUS card in your Break Zone from the game. When you do so, your opponent selects 1 Forward they control. Put it into the Break Zone.”

In FFTCG, there are a great number of cards that have Category MOBIUS; from Summons that are placed in the Break Zone as soon as they are cast, to cards like the Goblin [17-007C] that can be easily and actively placed in the Break Zone. By utilizing such cards, you can easily recover from having the Break Zone emptied by cards such as the Mist Dragon [9-068H]. It won’t be too much trouble to have these ready when Meia [25-101L]’s Auto Ability is needed.

This also applies to her other ability, the Action Ability, which reads “[Dull], remove 1 Category MOBIUS card in the Break Zone from the game: During this turn, the cost required to cast your next Summon is reduced by 1 (it cannot become 0).” There are plenty of commonly used Summons within Category MOBIUS, such as Remora [12-108C] and Ixion [17-090R], so this ability should come in handy.

As mentioned earlier, there are many cards from MOBIUS FINAL FANTASY, and quite a few that can have unexpected synergies. For example, Meia [25-101L] can be combined with Griever [21-027L]. By having Griever [21-027L] placed in the Break Zone, Meia [25-101L] with Job Witch can be searched and placed in the field, then by removing Griever [21-027L] from the game, you will be able to place one of your opponent’s Forwards into the Break Zone. These are just a few good synergies, and you can expect to find many more as you delve through the card pool! I would encourage you to do so whilst you wait for the next Card of The Week!

Next week, I will be introducing two members of the Mythril Musketeers, the pride of the Republic! Please stay tuned!
