Hello everyone! This is Taro Kageyama, Producer of FFTCG.

It’s already week 3 of Card of the Week, where we introduce cards from the upcoming booster pack, Memories of Life, scheduled for release on November 13. Today, we’re looking at a Water Legend card: [30-090L] Yuna.

First, let’s take a look at the card design featuring Yoshitaka Amano’s illustration.

[30-090L] Yuna reflects the relationship between summoners and guardians in FINAL FANTASY X within her card abilities. First off, if you control 2 or more Job Guardian Forwards, [30-090L] Yuna cannot be broken. This applies regardless of the type of break, so even if she takes damage equal to or exceeding her power, she won't be broken. However, please note that if you no longer meet this condition while she has taken lethal damage, she will be broken by that damage.

[30-090L] Yuna also has another ability related to Job Guardian. Her auto-ability when entering the field reads: “When Yuna enters the field, reveal the top 5 cards of your deck. Add 1 Category X Character among them to your hand and return the other card to the bottom of your deck in any order. Then, you may play 1 Job Guardian of cost 4 or less from your hand onto the field.” Even with the cost limit, being able to play Backups as well as Forwards, regardless of Element, makes this an exceptionally convenient and powerful ability. Furthermore, the fact that the card you initially add to your hand is a broad Category X Character rather than strictly a Job Guardian is another great feature.

Memories of Life introduces several new Job Guardian cards. Adding these to existing options gives you a wide variety of Guardians to choose from, so if you like this card, definitely give building a new Job Guardian deck a try!

Next week's Card of the Week goes back to Rio, who will be introducing two cards from FINAL FANTASY XI.
Stay tuned!
