Thank you for your continuing support of the FINAL FANTASY TRADING CARD GAME. This is FFTCG Producer, Tarou Kageyama.

With the upcoming release of the Tears of the Planet booster pack on 28 March, one card is to be placed under new restrictions under the Standard format. Please note that these restrictions differ from any that were previously in force. I apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause, and thank you for your understanding.

Details of the card in question are given below, along with the rationale behind the restrictions. There are no newly banned or restricted cards for L3 Constructed, L6 Constructed or Title formats. In addition, the newly restricted card can be used as before in all play formats other than Standard, and in Limited play.

Standard Restrictions

The below card is hereby restricted under certain conditions in Standard play.

Card 23-117L Chaos

Conditions

• When including this card in a deck, no more than three cards with the card name Chaos or Feral Chaos can be placed in the deck in total.

• As long as there are no more than three of these cards in the deck in total, they can be included in any combination, e.g. 3 × 23-117L Chaos; 2 × 23-117L Chaos and 1 × 20-069H Chaos etc.

• When the card 23-117L Chaos is not included in the deck, these restrictions do not apply. (i.e. players are permitted to include as many cards with the card name Chaos or Feral Chaos as they like, as long as they are not 23-117L Chaos.)

Date of Enforcement

28 March 2025

Reason for Restrictions

The synergy between Chaos's auto-ability and his special ability is too great, so that using his special ability in response to his auto-ability after he enters the field has the potential to fulfil the requirements for his abilities from the first turn of the game, significantly impeding the other player's actions from the very first stages of the game.

From a cost perspective, it is easy to turn the disadvantage of having as many as 10 cards from the deck placed into the Break Zone into an advantage, and this ability can be used multiple times, so this is not appropriately within the bounds of an effect that deals damage to another player, which is something that should be treated cautiously.

Since the above factors result in a situation that cannot reasonably be said to be a fair matchup for a card game, we have reached this decision to implement restrictions on this card when it is used in a deck.
