Blissful Eternity - Card of the Week - [29-116H] Madeen & [29-117H] Ark

Hello everyone! Welcome back to "Card of the Week" where we introduce the latest cards from the upcoming booster pack, Blissful Eternity, launching on August 7th. Finally, we’ve reached our final week. Thank you all so much for sticking with us until the very end. For our grand finale, we would like to introduce two brand-new cards featuring exclusive illustrations. It’s sad to see this season wrap up, but without further ado, let’s dive right in!

First up is the Light element Summon, [29-116H] Madeen!

Featuring a brand-new illustration by Yuya Ishihata, this card is a Summon originating from FINAL FANTASY IX. Eiko, who shares a deep bond with Madeen, is depicted alongside it, creating a card that truly tells a story. This narrative feel is amplified even further if you look at the Full Art version.

Just like its previous two appearances, Madeen is designed as a Light elemental Summon this time around as well. While it is a 3CP Summon, its effects are remarkably powerful, fitting for a Light elemental card. It possesses the ability: "Madeen cannot be canceled." as well as: "Choose 1 Forward opponent controls. You may search for 1 Light Forward and remove it from the game. If you do so, remove the chosen Forward from the game. If not, break the chosen Forward."

The first effect is straightforward. For example, cards like [9-068H] Dragon that say "Choose 1 summon of cost 5 or less. Cancel its effect." cannot cancel [29-116H] Madeen.

The second effect might look a bit complex at first glance, but in short, if you remove a Light Forward in your deck from the game, Madeen allows you to remove the chosen Forward from the game. If you choose not to remove a Light Forward, you can break it instead. In other words, for just 3 CP, you can unconditionally break a Forward, and if you meet the requirement, you can remove it from the game entirely. This can easily be described as an exceptionally powerful effect.

As a quick side note: if the chosen Forward gains an effect like "cannot be chosen by Summons" before Madeen resolves, the chosen Forward becomes an invalid target. Please note that since this is not "cancel the effect," Madeen will be removed from the stack without resolving its effect.

Now, let’s move on to our second card. It’s the Dark element Summon, [29-117H] Ark! This card also features an exclusive illustration by Yuya Ishihata and originates from FINAL FANTASY IX.

Madeen and Ark have always been printed at the exact same time (excluding the Legacy Collection), and this marks Ark's third card appearance. [29-117H] Ark is a 5CP Dark elemental Summon with the following effect: "Choose up to 2 Forwards opponent controls. You may search for 1 Dark Forward and remove it from the game. If you do so, break the chosen Forwards. If not, deal 8000 damage to the chosen Forwads." Similar to [29-116H] Madeen, removing a Dark Forward from the game unleashes a devastating effect. If you don't remove one, it deals 8000 damage to up to two chosen Forwards—but if you do remove a Dark Forward, you can actually break both of them!

Unlike [29-116H] Madeen, it doesn't have the "cannot be canceled" clause, but that's simply because the effect itself is already so powerful. Please give it a try in your decks!
